The River Plate is also one of the largest estuaries in the world, and it has played a significant role in the region's history, culture, and economy.

The River Plate begins its journey from the confluence of two significant rivers, the Paraná and the Uruguay, near the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

From there, it flows eastward towards the Atlantic Ocean, forming the natural boundary between Argentina and Uruguay for almost 290 kilometers.

The River Plate has a width of nearly 220 kilometers at its mouth, and it is up to 30 meters deep.

The River Plate has a unique and dynamic ecosystem, which makes it a popular destination for fishing and wildlife enthusiasts.

The river is home to a wide range of aquatic plants and animals, including dolphins, turtles, alligators, and more than 400 species of fish, including shad, golden dorado, and sábalo.
